Pre-registration
In order to facilitate the preparation of our tournaments, online pre-registration is compulsory for all events, and should be done by 12:00 noon on event days.

Tournament fee must be paid before 6:45 pm, or the pre-registration will be forfeited. Walk-in registrations will only be accepted when seats are available.
Free Game and Discount Policy
To extend our sincere gratitude to your continuous support throughout these years, BridgeHouse decides to extend the existing free game and discount policies.
- Players who win a session of year-round events (except Qualifying sessions) can enjoy one (1) free game in the next year-round event that follows immediately after that winning session in the same bridge year. Year-round events include:
- Ladder Team
- Ladderette Team
- IMP Pairs
- Ladder Pairs
- All-rounded Pairs
- Full time primary and secondary school students - In order to promote bridge among youngsters, all full-time primary and secondary students are eligible to play in our events free of charge!
- Full time university students are eligible to enjoy a HK$20-discount on our events.
- Seniors who are aged 65 or above can also enjoy a HK$20-discount on our events.
Systems & Conventions Restrictions
- Green (Natural methods), Blue (Forcing Club/Forcing Diamond, e.g. Big Clubs/Diamonds, Precision, etc) and Red (e.g. Multi-Club) systems are allowed.
- Yellow systems (Highly Unusual Methods (HUM), e.g. Showing a strong hand by opening pass) and Brown-stickers conventions are not allowed.
- Psychic bids, whether they are protected/required by the system or not, are strictly prohibited in our tournaments.

Regulations
We are in general adopting the following laws and regulations in our tournaments:
Year-round Cup Events
Ladder Team (Bridge Friends Cup)
- Format: Direct match, or Multiple Team movement
- Number of sessions: 1 qualifying and 9 game-days
- Max no. of teams: 27 (4+8+18, except the qualifying session)
- Entry and participation
- All teams must have a team captain as an anchor player.
- Qualifying session
- There will be 2 sections for 15 teams or fewer.
- There will be 4 sections for 16 teams or more.
- The leading teams from the last bridge year will be the seeds in each section.
- When there are 2 sections...
- The winning team and the 1st runner-up in each section qualifies to play in Ladder A.
- The 2nd and 5th runners-up in each section qualifies to play in Ladder B1.
- The 3rd and 4th runners-up in each section qualifies to play in Ladder B2.
- When there are 4 sections...
- The winning team in each section qualifies to play in Ladder A.
- The 1st runners-up in sections A and C qualify to play in Ladder B1.
- The 1st runners-up in sections B and D qualify to play in Ladder B2.
- The 2nd runners-up in sections A and C qualify to play in Ladder B2.
- The 2nd runners-up in sections B and D qualify to play in Ladder B1.
- Each game-day
- Ladders A, B1 and B2 will maintain a quartet (4 teams)
- Other teams will be playing in Ladder C.
- If there are 8-11 teams in Ladder C, there will be Ladders C1 and C2.
- If there are 12-15 teams in Ladder C, there will be Ladders C1, C2 and C3.
- If there are 16 or more teams in Ladder C, there will be Ladders C1, C2, C3 and C4.
- If there are 3 teams or fewer in a Ladder, they will play with the teams in a higher ladder.
- If there are 7 or fewer teams in Ladder B, Ladders B1 and B2 will be combined as Ladder B.
- Promotion/Demotion
- Ladder A
- The winning team and the 1st runner-up stays in Ladder A.
- The 2nd runner-up demotes to Ladder B1.
- The 3rd runner-up demotes to Ladder B2.
- Ladder B1
- The winning team promotes to A3.
- The 1st runner-up plays in Ladder B2.
- The 2nd runner-up demotes to Ladder C (C1).
- The 3rd runner-up demotes to Ladder C (C2).
- Ladder B2
- The winning team promotes to A4.
- The 1st runner-up plays in Ladder B1.
- The 2nd runner-up demotes to Ladder C (C2).
- The 3rd runner-up demotes to Ladder C (C1).
- Ladder C
- The best 4 teams in Ladder C promote to B.
- For 2 Ladder C
- The winning team in C1 promotes to Ladder B1.
- The runner-up in C1 promotes to Ladder B2.
- The winning team in C2 promotes to Ladder B2.
- The runner-up in C2 promotes to Ladder B1.
- For 3 Ladder C
- The winning team in each Ladder C and the best runner-up team among all Ladder C (with higher VP %) will be promoted to Ladder B.
- The winning team in C1 promotes to Ladder B1.
- The winning team in C2 promotes to Ladder B2.
- If the best runner-up team is from C1 or C3, the winning team in C3 promotes to Ladder B1 and that runner-up team promotes to B2. Otherwise, the winning team in C3 promotes to B2 and the runner-up from C2 promotes to B1.
- For 4 Ladder C
- The winning team in C1 promotes to Ladder B1.
- The winning team in C2 promotes to Ladder B2.
- The winning team in C3 promotes to Ladder B1.
- The winning team in C4 promotes to Ladder B2.
- Number of boards
- Ladder A
- 4 teams, 8 boards/round, 3 rounds
- Ladders B1 and B2
- 4 teams, 8 boards/round, 3 rounds
- Follow Ladder C when there are 7 teams or fewer in Ladder B.
- Ladder C
- 4 teams: 8 boards/round, 3 rounds
- 5 teams: 6 boards/round, 4 rounds
- 6 teams: 5 boards/round, 5 rounds
- 7 teams: 4 boards/round, 6 rounds
- Scoring
- WBF Continuous Victory Point (VP)
- Ranking point
- Ranking points will be awarded as follow.
- Ladder A: 20, 17, 14, 12
- Ladder B: 15, 12, 9, 7
- Ladder C: 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1 afterwards
- Overall winner
- The team accumulating the most RP (best 6 out of 9)
- For tie-breaking, all Ladder Teams game-days will be taken into account.
- Trophies

- Pre-registration is compulsory for the teams playing in Ladder A and Ladder B.
Ladderette Team (TK Lum Memorial Cup)
- Format: Direct match, or Multiple Team movement
- Number of sessions: 1 qualifying and 9 game-days
- Max no. of teams: 27 (6+21, except qualifying session)
- Entry and participation
- All teams must have a team captain as an anchor player.
- Qualifying session
- There will be 3 sections for 23 teams or fewer.
- There will be 6 sections for 24 teams or more.
- The leading teams from the last bridge year will be the seeds in each section
- The winning team(s) in each section qualifies to play in Ladderette A
- Each game-day
- Ladders A will maintain a sextet (6 teams)
- Other teams will be playing in Ladderette B:
- If there are 3 teams or fewer in Ladderette B, they will play with the teams in Ladderette A.
- If there are 4 to 7 teams in Ladderette B, there will be Ladderettes B1.
- If there are 8 to 14 teams in Ladderette B, there will be Ladderettes B1 and B2.
- If there are 15 to 21 teams in Ladderette B, there will be Ladderettes B1, B2, and B3.
- Promotion/Demotion
- Ladderette A
- The bottom 2 teams (or the bottom 3 teams if there are 3 Ladderettes B), together with the teams that got VPs that are below average, will be demoted to Ladderette B.
- Ladderette B
- Winning teams are promoted to Ladderette A.
- If there are vacancies in Ladderette A after the promotion, the best runner-up team with higher VP % will be promoted to Ladderette A.
- Number of boards
- Ladderette A
- 6 teams, 5 boards/round, 5 rounds
- Ladderette B
- 4 teams: 8 boards/round, 3 rounds
- 5 teams: 6 boards/round, 4 rounds
- 6 teams: 5 boards/round, 5 rounds
- 7 teams: 4 boards/round, 6 rounds
- Scoring
- WBF Continuous Victory Point (VP)
- Ranking point
- Ranking points will be awarded as follow:
- Ladderette A: 20, 17, 14, 12, 11, 10
- Ladderette B: 15, 12, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 afterwards
- Overall winner
- The team accumulating the most RP (best 5 out of 9)
- For tie-breaking, all Ladderette Teams game-days will be taken into account.

Ladder Pairs
- Format: Howell or Mitchell Pairs movement
- Number of sessions: 1 qualifying and 7 game-days
- Max no. of tables: 27 (5+22, except the qualifying session)
- Entry and participation
- Each partnership will consist of two players.
- Each player must play at least 70% of the boards scheduled to be played by the partnership to be eligible for either session or overall masterpoint awards.
- Each partnership playing in Ladder A must consist of the same two players from the previous session.
- Qualifying session
- Mitchell movement, scoring across sections if needed
- The top five (5) pairs in each direction qualify to play in Ladder A
- Each game-day
- Ladder A will maintain 10 pairs (5 tables)
- Other pairs will play in Ladder B (for 3 or more tables in Ladder B)
- If there are 5 pairs or fewer in Ladder B, they will be played together with Ladder A
- Promotion/Demotion
- Ladder A
- The bottom 6 pairs, together with the pairs having MPs that are below average will be demoted to Ladder B.
- Ladder B
- Top pairs will be promoted to Ladder A.
- The number of pairs that are promoted depends on the number of vacancies available in Ladder A.
- If there are 6 or more tables, top pairs are taken from each direction.
- Number of boards
- Ladder A
- Howell movement - 5 tables, 3 boards per round, 9 rounds
- Ladder B
- 3 tables: Howell movement - 5 boards per round, 5 rounds
- 4 tables: Howell movement - 3 boards per round, 7 rounds
- 5 tables: Howell movement - 3 boards per round, 9 rounds
- 6 - 7 tables: Mitchell movement - 4 boards per round, 6 rounds
- 8 - 11 tables: Mitchell movement - 3 boards per round, 8 rounds
- 12 - 15 tables: Mitchell movement - 2 boards per round, 12 rounds
- 16 or more tables: 2 sessions (Ladders B1 and B2) of 24-board Mitchell movement
- Scoring
- Total comparison of Match Points, across the sections if necessary.

- The pair accumulating the most RP (best 4 out of 7)
- For tie-breaking, all Ladder Pairs game-days will be taken into account.
- Trophies

- Pre-registration is compulsory for the pairs playing in Ladder A.
- Ladder A will start earlier than other Ladders and hence they have to arrive at least 10 minutes before the official starting time.
IMP Pairs
- Format: Howell or Mitchell Pairs movement
- Number of sessions: 7 game-days
- Max no. of tables: 26
- Entry and participation
- Each partnership will consist of two players.
- Each player must play at least 70% of the boards scheduled to be played by the partnership to be eligible for either session or overall masterpoint awards.
- Number of boards
- 3-7 tables: 24-28 boards Howell movement
- 8-15 tables: 24-board Mitchell movement with winners in each direction
- 16 tables or more: 2-session 24-board Mitchell movement with winners in each direction
- Scoring
- Total comparison of International Match Points (total IMP) with maximum of 24, across the sections if necessary.
- Ranking
- Ranking points will be awarded to pairs as follow: 20, 17, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 afterwards
- Overall winner
- The pair accumulating the most RP (best 4 out of 7)
For tie-breaking, all IMP Pairs game-days will be taken into account.
- Trophies
All-rounded Pairs
- Format: Howell or Mitchell Pairs movement
- Number of sessions: 7 game-days
- Max no. of tables: 26
- Entry and participation
- Each partnership will consist of two players.
- Each player must play at least 70% of the boards scheduled to be played by the partnership to be eligible for either session or overall masterpoint awards.
- Number of boards
- 3-7 tables: 24-28 boards Howell movement
- 8-15 tables: 24-board Mitchell movement with winners in each direction
- 16 tables or more: 2-session 24-board Mitchell movement with winners in each direction
- Scoring
- Both Match Point scoring (MP) and total comparison of International Match Points (total IMP) with maximum of 24 will be calculated, across the sections if needed.
- Both scoring will be mathematically re-scaled into 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest).
- The re-scaled MP scores (by percentage) and IMP scores (by total IMPs) contributes 55% and 45% respectively to the final score.
- Ranking
- Ranking points will be awarded to the players as follow: 20, 17, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 afterwards
- RPs will be awarded to the players in different partnerships.
- RPs can be earned once by the players of the same partnership within a bridge year.
- When same partnership participated in more than one session, the highest RPs is retained.
- Overall winner
- The player accumulating the most RP (best 4 out of 7)
